Week 4 CFB Predictions

Week 4 of the college football season is upon us, and the slate is pretty solid. Here are my predictions for the upcoming week of college football

#22 Nebraska vs #24 Illinois (Nebraska -7.5) 8:00pm EST *Friday*

Prediction: Nebraska beats Illinois 35-13

Look, I’m very high on the Cornhuskers right now, probably more so than most people. I think that Matt Rhule is one of the best coaches in the country and the talent at Nebraska far outweighs the talent at illinois. Not to mention the Cornhuskers are home, and the fans haven’t been this bought in since the 70s. Give me Nebraska by a large margin.

#18 Michigan vs #11 USC (USC -5.5) 3:30pm EST

Prediction: USC beats Michigan 21-10

USC looks good this year, already notching a ranked win vs LSU in week 1. The Wolverines on the other hand have looked horrible thus far, having trouble with GO5 schools and getting destroyed by Texas. Michigan hasn’t looked this bad on offense since John O’Korn was the QB. I think Michigan’s defense plays well at home but the Trojans come out victorious.

#14 Oklahoma State vs #12 Utah (Utah -2) 4:00pm EST

Prediction Utah beats OSU 28-24

This game should be close, as to me, these are the best two teams in the Big 12. Oklahoma State had their best game of the season last week, With Alan Bowman throwing for nearly 400 yards and 5 TDs. If Cam Rising was not playing, I’d be all over the Pokes, but with the veteran QB I think Utah comes out on top. This is a coin flip though and I’m excited to watch.

(fun fact the combined age of these two QBs is 49)

#15 Oklahoma vs #6 Tennessee (Tennessee -7) 7:30pm EST

Prediction: Oklahoma beats Tennessee 24-20

The Sooners and the Vols are polar opposites. Oklahoma has a physical defensive built team under head coach Brent Venables, while Tennessee is built for offensive firepower. The Vols have looked amazing for the past few weeks and the Sooners have had some struggles. Everything that we’ve seen so far this season is pointing toward a Tennessee win… which is exactly why I’m taking the Sooners. I think Venables' defense shuts down Nico and the Vols, and the Sooners win at home.
