Should Georgia be Worried?
Georgia looked flat in their week three matchup vs Kentucky, only winning against the unranked wildcats by one point, leading many people to wonder and suggest that maybe Georiga isn’t as good as previously thought. So should Georgia fans be worried about the rest of the season? My short answer is no.
Georgia to me is still top to bottom the best roster in College Football. They have playmakers and studs at all their skill positions and most importantly are built very well on both the offensive and defensive front. They also have the best coach in the country. So if Georgia has all of this talent and a great coaching staff, why did they struggle in Lexington on Saturday? Well first of all the offense of Georiga was the only unit that struggled. Georgia’s defense still played lights not allowing a single TD to Kentucky. Offensively there is some cause for concern as the Bulldogs had a hard time moving the football, but this is expected early in the season. Carson Beck lost his two favorite targets from last season in Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, so he’s still building chemistry with some of the younger receivers on this team. They brought in Trevor Etienne at RB, who himself is still getting used to this offense.
To me, if I were a Georgia fan, I’d honestly be happy that this game happened so early in the season, these struggles will no doubt get ironed out by Kirby Smart and his staff as they head into tougher SEC play. Georgia is still my favorite not only to win the conference (Texas is closely behind) but also the Title. I expect Georgia to figure out the issues they had in the Kentucky game, and be fully ready to beat the Tide after their bye week.
