CFB Week 3 Predictions

Week 3 is upon us and with that another full slate of games. Here are my predictions for some of the top matchups this week.

#14 Kansas State vs #20 Arizona (KSU -7.5) 8:00pm EST *Friday*

Prediction: Kansas State beats Arizona 38-35

This game should be a shootout in Manhattan with two high-powered offenses. On one side, you have the electric Arizona QB-WR duo in Noah Fafita and Tetairola McMillian; on the other, you have the run-focused offense behind a stout Kansas State offensive line. Despite the different styles I see both these offenses having success and putting points up on the board. Arizona keeps it close, but I think Kansas pulls out the win at home.

Wisconsin vs #4 Alabama (Bama -16.5) 12:00pm EST

Prediction: Alabama beats Wisconsin 27-10

I think Wisconsin’s defense is good enough to hang around with the Tide for a decent chunk of this game, especially with the crowd in Madison roaring. However, I think the talent disparity between these two teams will show up in the 3rd quarter and Alabama should pull away.

South Carolina vs #16 LSU (LSU-7) 12:00pm EST

Prediction: LSU beats South Carolina 31-24

This game should be fun. South Carolina dominated Kentucky last week, sending a message to the rest of the SEC that they are not a team to look past. LSU comes in 1-1 with a tough loss to USC in week 1. I think that the Tigers are still a great team, specifically on the offensive side of the ball, and will have no problem putting up points. South Carolina’s offense should also be productive behind the arm of redshirt freshman Lanorris Sellers, as well as the legs of star RB Rahiem Sanders. I think this game goes back in forth, but LSU winds up on top.

#6 Missouri vs #24 Boston College (Mizzou -16)

Prediction: Missouri beats BC 35-13

Boston College is a new team under head coach Bill O’Brien, and I think they have a bright future ahead. However, this team is heavily outmatched in this game, and they are on the road. Missouri is one of the 12 teams I predicted to make the playoff at the end of the year, and I am really high on them. I think at home Missouri takes care of business and dominates BC.
