It’s Time To Talk About the Aggies
If I had written an article at the start of the season that claimed that the Texas A&M Aggies would be the TOP team in the SEC after Week 9, I think the vast majority of people would claim I was crazy.
But that is exactly the case. The Aggies have one 7 straight games after a week one loss to Notre Dame, beating every single SEC team on their schedule thus far. Aside from Indiana being undefeated, I think that A&M has to be the second-biggest surprise of the season. After a second-half rally, the Aggies beat LSU 38-23 and launched themselves to be the sole leaders of the SEC, earning #10 in this week's AP poll.
I’m not going to lie, after the week one loss to Notre Dame, I truthfully hadn’t thought about A&M as a playoff team until Saturday, but they quietly are on pace to the program's first-ever playoff birth. They wrap up the season with a tough road game at South Carolina, home against New Mexico State, On the road again at Auburn, and an electric finish by hosting Texas at home. If the Aggies can go at least 3-1 in this stretch, they will be a playoff team.
What a debut season it has been for Coach Elko in College Station, and everyone beware of this Aggies team, because they are most certainly legit.
