CFB Week 6 Predictions
It's hard to believe that week 6 is already here, but there’s a pretty good slate this weekend. Here are my predictions for some of the week's top games in action.
#25 UNLV vs Syracuse (UNLV -6.5) 9:00 PM EST Friday
Prediction: Syracuse beats UNLV 38-31
Syracuse’s offense is legit as they’ve been putting up points and yards in the ACC so far this season. UNLV has a real shot to get a playoff bid as the best GO5 team in the nation. I’m very much so looking forward to this game as it could effectively end either team’s season. Despite all the Sluka controversy last week, UNLV took care of business against Fresno State with their new QB, Hajj-Malik Williams. I expect both teams to put up points on Friday, but I see Syracuse coming out on top.
#25 Texas a&M VS #9 Missouri (Texas A&M -2.5) 12:00 PM EST
Prediction Texas A&M beats Missouri 24-23
This game is going to be a good one. Texas A&M has looked disappointing all season, with a loss to Notre Dame in week 1, and struggling to blow out teams like Bowling Green. Missouri has also underperformed playing Boston College and Vanderbilt very closely. I think Vegas is on to something here with the spread and A&M upsets the Tigers in College Station. Give the Aggies in a close one
South Carolina vs #12 Ole Miss (Miss -9) 3:30 pm EST
Ole Miss beats South Carolina 35-28
This game is tough to predict. On one side we have a battle-tested South Carolina team that has notched an SEC win over Kentucky (the team that happened to beat Ole Miss) and a tough loss against a very good LSU team. On the other side, you have Ole Miss, who in their first tough game of the season crumbled and lost. If either of these teams is still thinking out the playoffs, they can’t lose this week. I think that Lane Kiffin will fire up this offense enough to get the job done in Columbus this weekend. Give me the Rebels in a high-scoring game.
Cal vs #10 Miami (Miami -10) 10:30 PM EST
Miami beats Cal 42-20
I know that after last week’s controversial win, a lot of people are out on the Hurricanes being serious Title contenders. But to be honest I feel the exact opposite. Virginia Tech is a tough opponent who have a veteran roster and Miami showed the resiliency to come back after being down for most of the game. Cal has been a pleasant surprise this year notching a win over SEC opponent Auburn earlier in the season and finding their way to a 3-1 start. I think both these teams are capable ACC competitors, but the Canes roster is just way too talented. Give the Hurricanes behind the best player in the country, Cam Ward, to beat the Golden Bears in this “Woke v Coke” game.
