CFB Week 10 Predictions
Week 10 is here! Not the best total slate, but we do have a top 5 matchup. Here are some of my predictions for some of the best games of the weekend.
#3 Penn State vs #4 Ohio State (OSU -3.5) 12:00 pm EST
prediction: Ohio State Beats Penn State 31-27
I am not particularly high on either of these teams, but both of them need a W in the column to make a strong case as a playoff team. Nothing about Penn State excites me, and I don’t think they are a championship-caliber team with or without Drew Allar (who is listed as questionable for this game). On the other side, Ohio State has a lot of talent but hasn’t been able to put a consistent product on the field. I see this game being pretty close, but in the end, the Buckeyes pull it out in Happy Valley.
Arkansas vs #19 Ole Miss (Ole Miss -7) 12:00 pm EST
Prediction: Ole miss Beats Arkansas 28-17
This game is pretty much due or die for Ole Miss. They come into this game already having two losses, and their playoff hopes are stretched as thin as possible. Arkansas has had no problem playing spoiler this season, handing Tennessee their only loss of the year. At home, Arkansas should put up a decent first-half fight, but I trust Lane Kiffin to get the job done and pull out a win.
Michigan vs #1 Oregon (Oregon -14.5) 3:30 PM EST
PrediCtion: Oregon beats Michigan 27-10
Michigan needs to win this game to save any sort of hope as a Big Ten contender. They have faltered all season long and have not been able to find an offensive identity. However, they are coming into this game with some momentum after defeating their bitter rival, Michigan State, last week. Oregon is making a case for the best team in football, as they are unbeaten up to this point. I’ve seen a lot of people calling for an upset in Ann Arbor on Saturday but I just can’t see it. Oregon should handle business in the Big House.
#20 SMU vs #19 Pitt (SMU -7.5) 8:30 PM EST
Prediction: SMU Beats Pitt 24-23
The biggest thing that jumps out to me about this game is the fact that SMU is favored by 7.5 points. Pitt is undefeated in a Power 4 conference but is only #19 in the country, which also doesn’t make much sense to me. Their starting QB is injured, but is not out of the question in the game vs SMU. Both Vegas and the AP don’t seem to think much of the Panthers, but I think they deserve some credit. They picked off Syracuse QB Kyle McCord 5 times in their dominating win last week, even without their QB. I think this game will be closer than people think, but with Pitt having to travel to Texas, SMU has the upper hand. Not to mention that SMU has been tremendous this season, only having one loss to their name. Give me the Ponies in a tight one.
