Why Syracuse Football Can make the CFP

Syracuse’s new Quarterback: Kyle McCord

D.A.R.T. That is new Syracuse Head Coach Fran Brown’s motto. Detailed. Accountable. Relentless. Tough. This is what he preaches to his players and coaching staff. The former DB coach may not have the deepest coaching résumé however he does have a title that has helped make Syracuse Football an ACC title contender: The number one recruiter in the nation. Since arriving at Syracuse in late November, Coach Brown has signed a top 40 recruiting class in 2024, and a top 25 transfer class. The most notable transfer is former Ohio State QB, Kyle McCord who was one of the top QBs in the nation last year. The transfer class also saw some key additions at WR with two former Georgia Bulldogs (Jackson Meeks, and Yazeed Haynes) coming to upstate New York. Not only was there a lot of talent brought in but the Orange were able to keep some key upperclassmen, including Captains Marlowe Wax, and Justin Barron. This roster top to bottom is really solid, and with maybe the easiest Power 4 schedule in 2024, the orange may see a lot more success than people are expecting.
