CFB Week 2 Predictions
It’s not a great slate in week 2, but let’s take a look at some of the top games.
#10 Michigan vs #3 Texas (Texas -7.5) 12:00pm EST
Prediction: Michigan beats Texas 24-20
Michigan struggled against Fresno State and Texas dominated Colorado State. Everyone and their mother thinks that Texas is going to walk into the big house and dominate them. According to Draft Kings, 80% of the money is going on both Texas ML and spread. I don’t think Vegas loses all that money. Michigan has a lot of turnover from last season and needs time to gel on the offensive side of the football. I think the big house is going to make a big impact on this game, and Michigan’s defense holds Texas to a low score. Michigan wins this one.
#16 Oklahoma State vs Arkansas (OSU -7.5) 12:00pm EST
Prediction: Oklahoma State beats Arkansas 27-17
A Big 12 vs SEC Matchup in week 2 should make for a fun and interesting game. Both these teams looked solid vs inferior opponents in week 1, but this week should be a real test for both units. I think the Pokies running game ends up being too much for the Razorbacks. Oklahoma State wins this one in Stillwater.
Tulane vs #17 Kansas State (KSU -10.5) 12:00pm EST
Prediction Kansas State beats Tulane 35-31
I’m super excited for this game as Tulane has consistently been one of the top GO5 teams for the past couple of seasons and I think they have the roster to compete with Kansas State. KSU should be able to hang points on the Green Wave, but I think Tulane’s offense can respond. Should be a fun back-and-forth shootout in New Orleans this weekend, but the Wildcats come out on top.
#14 Tennessee vs #24 NC State (Tennessee -8) 7:30pm EST
Prediction: Tennessee beats NC State 35-20
I don’t think it is ridiculous to say that Tennessee might have the best QB in the country with Nico Iamaleava. Tennessee has top-tier playmakers on both sides of the ball and very well could be a playoff team this year. I think they have no trouble with an NC State team that is already off to a shaky start.
Colorado vs Nebraska (Nebraska -7.5) 7:30pm EST
Prediction: Nebraska beats Colorado 42-28
This game built up the Colorado hype to the peak and shot Nebraska down as an unserious football team last season. I think the exact opposite happens this year. Dylan Raiola looked legit in his CFB debut and Matt Rhule has a full season under his belt in Lincoln. We like to remember how bad he was with the Panthers, but never how he completely turned around Baylor. Colorado showed us that their trenches are still a massive problem against NDSU. I think Big Red will dominate Colorado on Saturday.
