Breaking News: NCAA suspends Jim Harbaugh… after he left??
Much smarter folks than me have an in-depth breakdown of this situation. The best one that I read was by Larry Lage for the AP.
First things first this has nothing to do with the Connor Stallions investigation!
In layman’s terms, the NCAA found Harbaugh guilty of multiple recruiting violations during COVID. The NCAA charged Harbaugh with what is called a 4-year-show-cause-order. I know it’s a mouthful. But what that really means is that from 2024-2028 if a team wants to hire Harbaugh they would have to suspend him for a full year.
Now I know what you are thinking, Jim Harbaugh just left for the Los Angeles Chargers, why would he go back to College Football just to get suspended? He wouldn’t. So basically this is the NCAA saying “Jim Harbaugh committed recruiting violations that directly violated the NCAA’s COVID-19 Recruiting policy, so if Jim ever stupidly decides to come back to CFB we’re going to punish him real good.”
Thanks NCAA. Now we’ll wait another year for your groundbreaking Connor Stallions ruling.
